Check out the post relating to Rakhmonov and Garry's UFC 310 weigh-in below:

Ian Garry and the bold plans for his UFC future

Ian Garry is confident he will not just hand Shavkat Rakhmonov his first pro-MMA loss this weekend but go on to dominate the division for years to come. Garry mapped out these plans at the UFC 310 media day where he said he intends to have a championship reign in the promotion comparable to the likes of Georges St Pierre and Jon Jones.

The 27-year-old mentioned how the next 18 months will see a massive shift enacted in the division where the older fighters who have been established for years now will be phased out by the crop of young hungry contenders.

Garry confidently proclaimed that he would stand out above the pack though and intends to lord over the 170-pound weight division for years to come. A victory in this fight against Rakhmonov, who was supposed to fight welterweight champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 310 before a bone infection forced his withdrawal, could quickly vault Garry toward a chance at kicking off this ideal run of his in 2025.

The Dublin native has won his last eight fights since making his UFC debut and the number seven-ranked contender will look to end the unbeaten run of the UFC's number three-ranked welterweight this weekend.
